Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Illinois

roomate

i let a friend stay with me because he didnt' have enough money to move into his own place from his ex's. he was supposed to be out within a month but here he is over 2 months later. many of his his belongings have been in my garage for over a year and i have never charged him for anything. he didn't have to pay any rent to me or any the bills. he was supposed to be saving money for a security deposit and rent for a place of his own. he has not save a single dollar his pay check is gone before he gets the next. can i just tell him to leave and take all of his things? if he leaves but leaves his things how l do i have to give him to remove them? we had no set agreement just me trusting him to do what he said he was going to do. the only verbal agreement we had was just over a month ago i found out that he hadn't been saving any money and told him that he had until the end of november to leave and yesterday when i said something to him he acted like he didn't know what month i meant. please help

Re: roomate

Give him a 30 day notice to quit right away for January 31st. If he does not leave by the 31st, you can evict him and all of his property.
