Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Illinois

My friend signed up to compete in a bikini contest at a local bar in Charleston Illinois. So, I looked up the age requirements online to be allowed into the bar. The website stated that you had to be 21 after 9p.m. when the grill closed. I am 20 years of age and had to drive from Champaign Illinois which is about an hour and 15 minute drive. When i reached the bar they were carding so i showed my I.D. and was told i had to leave because you had to be 21 to enter. I politely stated that the website said it was 21 after 9p.m. I was told that it was to bad and you had to be 21 to enter. I asked to speak to the owner over the situation and the owner told me i was not allowed in today. i tried to have an adult conversation with the man and he refused to listen. I then said, "you don't even care what I have to say do you?" He responded, "no honestly I don't care at all." So, my question to you is this false advertising, or am I in the wrong and he had every right to refuse me into his business?

He always has the right to refuse admission as long as it is not a violation of civil rights. You could possibly sue him for your losses, the pricve of gas, etc. based on the advertisement-hardly worht pursuing.
