Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Illinois

My son was circumsized at about a month old. After a few days of healing, I noticed there was a significant amount of foreskin still present. When I addressed my concerns at his follow-up, the doctor said that it was "fine" and that he would "grow into it". He is now six months, and he has not "grown into it" yet. In fact I got a second opinion on my concerns and was told that he needed a revision that could not be done until he is a year old. At which time, they will have to give him general anethesia (running the risk of respiratory depression) and send him home on pain meds. I'm highly upset, because this could have been avoided and now I don't want it done, but I feel like this isn't my fault? Is there anything that I can do?
