Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

breast nuecrosis

i had breast reduction surgery a year ago. the nipple on the left side was nuecrotic (black) but has since regained some color and sensation. the scare tissue inside the breast is larger and through biopsy is showing to be nuecrotic. the surgeon is suggesting removing the dead tissue removed because it will spread infection to my cells and eventually blood stream. this will also drastically deform my breast as the tissue is quite extensive. do i have recourse with the surgeon who performed my reduction?

Re: breast nuecrosis

In order to determine whether you have any legal claim against the doctor, an attorney would need to obtain all of the pertinent medical records and then have them reviewed by by a medical expert to determine whether the results you are seeing are the result of any medical negligence. This process takes some time and requires some expense. If it is determined that you do have a legal cause of action, then you still need to determine whether the amount of damages you are likely to recover after a trial would justify the expense and effort. If you would like to discuss this further, you may call me at the office.
