Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

Cancer

I was in the hospital in june with pnemonia. I went see my cancer doctor in August. He wanted a copy of my cat scan from the hospital. Next thing he sends me for another test. Then he tells me i have cancer, spots on my lung. I had breast cancer, and thats why i was seeing my cancer doctor. I want to know why the hospital did not see, the cancer.

Re: Cancer

First of all, I hope that you are currently in remission and doing well.

I had a similar case in Melrose Park, Illinois a number of years ago. Did the delay from June to August cause your cancer to advance and if so to what extent were you damaged? Did your cancer advance to another stage? If you were not damaged, and hopefully you were not, there is no malpractice from a legal stanpoint. However, the care is obnoxiously substandard and you can certainly contact the administration of the hospital and ask for an investigation. You may also want to file a complaint with the JCAHO, if that hospital is accredited. If you do have a malpractice case, do not contact the administration. Instead, contact an attorney asap. I hope this helps.
