Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

My mother-in-law recently passed away after heart surgery. She was 76 years old and had been in poor health for quite some time. She has been going to the same doctor for several years. However, she had an outstanding balance of less than 300 dollars and the billing office cut her off from seeing her doctor because of this small bill. She didn't have much money and she was, as I said, 76 and in poor health. Getting a new doctor at this stage in the game would have been nearly impossible. It is our firm belief, that if she had been able to see her regular doctor, she'd have been more likely to go sooner and she would still be alive today. If we were to decide to sue the Medical Center, would we have a reasonable chance of winning?
