Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Illinois

Stapendectomy

I had a stapendectomy performed about 1983 and my doctor assured me that I could be awake during the surgery. I remember under anesthesia that he told me he would put me to sleep as I tried to say No. He performed the surgery which was a failure and cut through my pierced ear to use tissue to plug the cut parts. My hearing is worse and I could not preform my job as an air traffic controller in the Air National Guard. Do I have a legal case? Can I sue?

Re: Stapendectomy

You need to check with a local attorney who knows something about malpractice. First find our what the statute of limitations is. 1983 was a long time ago and if you wait too long to file a lawsuit then you can never do so.
