Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

beat up and have hospital bills

I was beat up because a fanily was calling me an a friend lesbians and other horrible names even though we were just sitting there talking and I told them to stop and grow up an turned around and they started beating me with thick wooden poles while my friend was screaming to stop. Now I have a lot of hospital bills and am way over my head. They dont have a lot of money Im pretty sure. Is there any was I can transfer my bills to under their name so I am not burdened in my credit? At least 2 of them were arrested so they do have that against them... help!

Re: beat up and have hospital bills

1- there is no way you can transfer your bills to another person. They are your bills and the hospital does not care who was the cause of the injuries. they treated you and so you have to pay them back.

2- You should file a claim under Illinois Crimes Victims Act: you will have your medical bills paid by the State along with other out of pocket expenses.

Go here http://www.ag.state.il.us/victims/victimcomp.html and complete the application.

I hope this helps
