Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

Bus Accident

I need to know if its not to late to put in a law suite for a injury I recieved on a pace bus in nov 2001. Because of this accident, I just had shoulder surgery. I was taken to the hospital the day of the accident by ambulance, after being in the ER for about 6hrs and after exrays they sent me home, with a follow up with my dr in a few days. I went to my doctor and was sent to physical therapy for several weeks. The therapy calmed the pain but I was still not right, and because of this pain i have been taking naproxen for almost 3yrs on and off. In Apr or May of this year the pain started to worsen, so I went to the dr again. We started therapy again only this time it didnt calm the pain so the dr had me take more xrays and a MRI. Well the xrays showed nothing , but the MRI di show the damage. the test shows that I had a torn rotor cup, so the dr had to do surgery to correct this, So I need to know if I have a case against pace bus or what. On the day of the accident, the driver was late on her route so she started to pu speed about 1 block from where i was going to get off . since she pu speed I pulled the cord and got up to go to the exit and she slammed on her brakes, I flew to where she was sitting.

Re: Bus Accident

I am afraid you are way too late. Pace is operated by the CTA and they require a 6 month notice and the statute of limitation is one year. If your accident occured in 2001... you are way out of luck!
