If a self employed person builds a garage on your property and he gets hurt are you liable for his medical bills?

Was this self employed person building the garage for himself or for you?

If building the garage for you, on your request and paid for by you, then that self employed person was in fact employed by you, working on your property and under your direction. Under those circumstances, chances are very strong that you would be held responsible for his injuries. Your home owner insurance should cover these costs.
