my husband is a independant contractor, he and his empolyee were installing carpet a ta nursing home , his employee opened a door to go outside and hit a resident coming inside, knocked her down and her hip broke. her family is now suing us, there was no posted sign,or window in the door , do they have a case?

yes they might. contact your husband's liability insurance carrier as soon as possible and it should defend him. if your husband's buisness doesn't have insurance, you need to contact a reputable lawyer in your area. word of mouth is the best source. also relax, the nursing home is probably a party also and the insurance companies will have to sort this out without you and your family being personally subjected. good luck.
