Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

I had a personal injury case settle in october 2013, my lawyer still has not released my check. He has told me for the last 3 weeks that he's waiting to get my last medical bill reduced. Orginally told me in October I'd have my check in two weeks, then it changed that I'd have it by Thanksgiving. Now he's stiil hasn't set me my check and its now the middle of December. Every time I DO speak with him, the story keeps changing. He often refuses to return my calls, or he tells me to call back later in the day. How long should this have taken? Should I make a complaint with the Bar Association?

unfortunately getting the liens and subrogation claims takes forever. Your lawyer is really doing a service for you above and beyond because he could just pay all the liens without negotiating them and you would probably get a lot less money. So just hang in there.

i agree with the other attorney. Also, unfortunately, it can take many months before all is resolved. However it is inapproriate for your attorney to not accept your phone calls.
