Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

hello, my name is rachel. I am turning 17 in jan. when i was 9 years old i got a settlement from a car accident. My mom put my settlement into a disk and then took it out about a year or two later. The reason for the withdrawl was to buy a house. And now we are living in an apartment in a different town and im almost the age to move out. My reason for writing you is because my sister is living in my house rent-free. My mom and i don't get along and she constantly threatens me saying that she will not sign the house over to me. Is it legal for her to keep my house in her name if she bought it with my settlement?

Your mother probably owes you the the sum she took out of your account, plus interest, depending on whether she got permission to withdraw the money. Your mother probably did not get permission to withdraw the money, or else the judge would likely have required that you own all or part of the house. You may be able to force your mother to either repay you or turn over all or part of that house to you. You will likley have to sue your mother to try to recover your money.
