Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

I recently won an award settlement and was told that the defendant had sixty days to release the amount awarded. It has been almost 120 days and I've yet to receive any information about what's going on. The lawyer that handled the case was very rude the one time I had spoken with him. When I sent an email to him he simply replied "I DON'T HAVE THE CHECK YET". What can I do or who should talk to about this matter.

You correctly perceive that you are entitled to a more detailed explanation. NO attorney would wait 4 months for his fee in a personal injury matter. Make an appointment to go to the office and speak with the attorney. If this is refused, complain to the ARDC (www.iardc.org):
