Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

I was resently a victim or assult and battery. It started at a gas station, when a man approached me and talked to me that I didn't reconize. Then I was at a different store across the street and a young lady was standing by my car staring at me. I proceeded to get into my car and drove off and I noticed the same women following me, so I pulled over and asked if everything was okay and a car pulled in front of my car. I noticed another young lady driving and the same man from the gas station in the passenger side. He then ran up to my car and started attacking me, so I pressed on my gas pedal and rammed my car into the other womens. Then the man took off running into the first ladies car who was following me and they left. I called the police and the first women showed back up. When the police arrived they questioned both of us I told the truth everytime they asked and the other girls changed their story three different times. I could still tell the cops didnt believe me. They also gave me a ticket for hitting the womens car in front of me. It's two days later and the police still haven't finished my report, haven't gotten the camara footage from the stores, and told me they don't know when the can send a detective out. I had a mild concussion and had to get 5 stiches behind my ear. I feel that I am being treated unfairly and am thinking of getting a lawyer, do I have a case?

Absent camera footage or an eyewitness that supports your version of what happened, it is not likely that you would be successful. You should hire counsel immediately while this is still a fresh situation so that a proper investigation can be conducted.
