Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

my son was beat up by this kids, and has abroken nose, lose teeth needs dental work, went to the hospital and said have to wait two weeks before can correct and rebreak his nose and get dental work, the kid who did this is 17, cops have a warrant out for him, don' t he have rights to get medical bills , and etc, paid, since

he's a minor his parents should pay

for their son who did this.so do we need to sue them or when we go to court the judge will decide...
