Legal Question in Personal Injury in Illinois

My Uncle used an illegal POA to sell my mothers home. She had Alzhimers with Dimencia. She passed away December 26, 2013. He sold her property in 2006. The District Attorneys office checked and agreed there was a crime but the Statute of Limitations had expired.(7 years). My question is: can I sue him for all the pain and suffering he has caused by refusing to tell me where my Mother was or anything. Up till now it has been "He said I said" with no witnesses.

Where were you during the 7 years that your uncle was "hiding" your mother? What is the evidence the POA was invalid? Fraud makes a difference. This was NEVER your word against his. Either the POA was valid or it was not.
