Legal Question in Product Liability in Illinois

Defective Disney Princess Stretch Bracelet

Late last year I went to my local drugstore, which sells toys and purchased two Disney Princess Stretch Bracelets. One was for me and one was for my seven yr. old daughter. After her wearing this product her arm where her wrist bone is started to turn blue. I took this product off thinking that my child's arm would be--name removed-- We'll it has not been the same since, she has server discolorations and burns to that area where the bracelet was. She is very light-skinned. As, I examined this product the silver painted coating and metal backing--name removed--her bracelet was all but gone. I believe that she has been poisioned. Her skin is darkly burnt/discolored from wearing this harmful Disney product. What makes it even worse is that she was sweating and these dangerous chemicals used in the metal coating and silver paint, I believe is in her blood. When people look at her it seems like she has been abused, but she hasn't. Where do I go from here?

Re: Defective Disney Princess Stretch Bracelet

I am sorry to hear about your daughters condition.

Regrettably, what you believe is not relevant. What is relevant is medical reports confirming your belief. If you believe your child has been poisoned, it is important that you take your child to the nearest emergency room and have them examine, and conduct the tests necessary to find out whether what you believe is true.

Once you have done that and once (god forbid) your belief is confirmed, then you should take your child, the bracelet to an attorney to see what can be done about it.

I hope this helps,
