Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I would like to buy a certain property in IL. The owner died, some of her known relatives are dead. There is no forwarding address/phone on her two daughters, she wasn't married. There is no mortgage recorded on the property. How can I get it, do I file a claim through the courts, etc?

You should have a title search conducted on the property and also have a skip tracer look for the last known heir. Someone must have paid for her last hospitlaization and funeral.

You need to buy it from her heirs or her estate. If the taxes go unpaid, you might be able to buy the taxes, but that is the only way the property can become your property without the owners' consent.
