Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

New Construction Defects

I just purchased a newly constructed home... I now realize I choose the wrong builder there are so many things wrong one of the major problems is water coming into the basement and the grading of the back and front yards my home is under warrenty for about 7-8 more months. I have written letters and asked that the items be repaired to no avail... what is my next step? I considered having a home inspector come in and determine if the items can in fact be repaired or if it is a lost cause in that case can i sue for a new house???? Not an unrealistic request based on the damage to my basement... please advise

Re: New Construction Defects

I think that ultimately you will have to sue the builder. I would recommend that you consult an attorney with real estate litigation experience as soon as possible.
