False Marital Status on Mortgage Documents

If a mortgage broker or loan officer knowingly allows and assists a married person to commit fraud by representing themselves as single when filing for a mortgage what are the consequences? Is there any legal recourse?

Whether there is recourse depends on who has been harmed by this fraud. I think at the very least a call to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is in order.

Your question is probably incomplete as I have no idea who it is that is seeking legal recourse. However, based on the information provided, all ahve committed crimes and could be prosecuted. Additionally, the broker can have his license revoked.
