Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

My husband and I purchased a home from his brother without having an inspection done on the property because his brother assured us that there was nothing wrong with the house. We found out later that his brother knew the septic system had failed two years prior to him selling us the property. We trusted his brother and because of our misplaced trust lost our home because we could not afford to have the septic system fixed.

Is there any legal recourse?

You need to review any written contracts, warranties, etc. for misrepresentations.
