Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I have lived with a man for ten years in my house it was my house for 5 years befor he moved in. Three years ago we refinanced my house and I had to put it in his name for i have not worked in 15 years . i have stayed at home and raised his children. I have 2 of my own. Just recently he has moved out and i hace just got a letter from an att... that states i must pay him 30,000 dollars or he will force the sale of my house. What action can i take too prevent this from happening ? Where do i stand legally ? Please give me a direction to go?
