Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

relocation leads to possiable foreclosure

My husband got a new job recently in another state. We are trying to sell our house and having little luck, like many others. If the house is not sold and it goes into foreclosure, because we can not afford a mortage and a rent pmt., will he eventually have his wages garnished? He is head of household and I am currently in school and taking care of our two small children at home. Is the situation as bad as it seems or is there hope?

Re: relocation leads to possiable foreclosure

You should talk with the mortgge holder and see if something can be worked out. They aren't in the business of owning homes and usually will work something out at elast temporarily.
