Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

roof inspection

I bought my home in 2003. The

roof inspection read ...I found it to

have two layers of three tab shingles

in good condition. They have a

serviceable life of five (5) to seven

(7) years. My roof just recently

rotted though and has caused water

damaged in a second room. Do I

have any recourse with the company

that did the inspection?

Re: roof inspection

Without reading the multiple disclaimers on the inspection contract or order form, and knowing whether there actually were two layers of roofing, I can not answer.

Additionally, there is a standard clause in most of the inspection documents which limits the inspecotr's liability to the cost of the inspection.
