Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Vacation of Real Property

My mom recently died in Chcago. My niece was living with her rent free as a caregiver. I have given her until Apr 30 to vacate the home so I can turn it over to the reverse mortgage company. She is showing no signs of preparing to leave. What are my options here?

Re: Vacation of Real Property

You may have to evict her or see if the reverse mortgage company will evict her.

Sorry to hear of your family's situation. If you cannot negotiate your niece leave, an attorney may be able to work with you to do so -- otherwise, you would have to begin the process to sue to have her forcibly evicted from the premises. Need more info. Please feel free to call.
