Dating - Can a 24 year old male date a 17 year old female?

We both were misled about each others ages at work. I believed she was 18 (thus not even thinking of age being an issue), and she was under the impression that I was 20.

While the inital meeting was strange we still clicked and we both want to try for a relationship.

Is there anything against our age gap? Also is there anything that her parents could possibly charge me with? And if that did happen could she defend me, even when she is 17, if it did go to court?

Hello. The law now has prosecuted males involved with young ladies under the age of 18 where sexual relations occur. You may be prosecuted should you and the young lady become intimate.
