can Illinois revenue levy 100%of a familys paycheck is this legal,

Can the Illinois revenue collecters levy 100% percent of a familys weekly pay leaving them with nothing.We are independent truckers who owe $3,000 and we have been notified we will have no pay for the next 3 weeks,our company has been told to withhold all pay 100% until tax is paid in full.We have a family of nine people and will have no income.

From your posting, you don't say what kind of taxes are owed (whether they are your personal taxes, corporate taxes, or payroll). Depending on the circumstances as well (how long they have been demanding the payments, whether you have cooperated with them, or have been ignoring them, etc.), they may just be trying to protect the state's interest in collecting the taxes after trying other avenues.

Regardless, you need to contact the Department, or have an attorney contact them for you to make a hardship plea based on what your family's needs are.
