Legal Question in Tax Law in Illinois

Tax Lein and Renting

I am located in Cook County, IL and I need a house in a different school district for my son. We are going to be renting our home in a different township out and rent a home in the new school district. On our current house there are some tax leins. We have been told by our realtor that if we rent out our house and change our address to both there will not be any problem. Will there be a problem with this?

Re: Tax Lein and Renting

Get a copy of the school district's rules of residency. Unless you are in violation of the rules, there doesn't seem to be a problem here.

Let me know if you need some assistance or advice on the tax liens.

Good luck to you.
