Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

Rental Car

I was accessed a toll fee for a car that I rented two years ago. I tried to appeal via my credit card, but the collection agency indicated I had ample notice.

This seems to be happening a lot as I have read of other incidence. The rental agency did not inform me in a timely manner and when I explained my appeal that I did pay, there answer is somewhat dismissive in that I either had to have an electronic pass on the car .

Do I have grounds to pursue this as it seems a lot of people have been caught in this same area where I was (O'Hare Airport) and it occurred within 5 minutes from leaving the airport. (i.e class action suit)

Sending someone a notice from 2006 is not timely and this particular agency gives the perception that they are with a government agency.

Re: Rental Car

Are you saying that you paid the toll or that someone else rented the same car, drove through the toll booth, and they somehow charged your card?
