Legal Question in Traffic Law in Illinois

how many tickets before suspension of license

I am under 18 and I want to know if I am going to lose my license. I obtained 2 speeding tickets in a 1 month time span. I am going to court for the first one tomorrow(2/12/02). If it matters the 2 speeding tickets were both for 20 mph over the speed limit in residential areas. Please email me back as soon as possible. Thank you.

Re: how many tickets before suspension of license

Especially at your age it is very important for you to avoid taking a conviction if at all possible. Many courts will grant you "supervision" in return for a plea of guilty, and if you sucessfully make it through the period of "supervision" then you will not have a conviction on your record. The secretary of state's office does not count these dispositions for purposes of putting points on your driving record and then suspending you. My advice would be to plead "not guilty" at your court date, and then hire an attorney to be sure that you get the very best deal available. Depending upon where exactly you must appear in court, I may be able to offer my services. You may call me if you wish for a free telephone consultation at 314-727-2822.
