Attorney Fees

Is it permissible to pay attorney fees from the proceeds of the estate? (As the executor of my brother's estate, I've hired an attorney for the estate and have been paying him from the estate account.)

Yes, provided that the attorney is representing you in your capacity as executor, and not individually as a beneficiary or otherwise.
