Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

My grandmother has a will and my father is power of attorney. in the last few weeks, my cousin has made up stories about my father and now has taken my 90 yr old grandmother to a different lawyer and had her will changed taking everyone out but my cousin. can she legally do that?

You may have a case for elder financial abuse. If you would like to try it on your own go to the Illinois Department of Aging website www.state.il.us/aging for help. If you would like representation you can reach me through my website at www.legacylaws.com.

If the late changes were in the cousin's favor, and it altered a long standing provision for your father then depending on many other facts, your father may also have a case for undue influence or tortious interference with inheritance.
