Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Illinois

Guardianship

I have a minor daughter who's father has passed away. I have asked my husbands brother and wife to assume responsibility of guardianship upon my death. My lawyer, who's a friend is asking for the named guardian's social security number in order to prepare the documents. My lawyer told me the bank will need it upon my death for the land trust, but the guardian is refusing to give it and wants me to check the validity with another legal source as to exactly why it would be required. I should mention that my daughter will aquire everything upon my death. Any explanation you could offer will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Guardianship

I can see no reason that the attorney would NEED that at this point. If the bank needs it at the time of your death, then he can give it to the bank at that time.
