Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

I injured my back while at work, # 2 hurniated disks L4 and L5 , i lost no time from work, went to doctors for about 10 months and was released from doctors care, the 2nd M R I showed the swelling had gone down and the doctor said surgery would make it worst now the insurance company wants to settel and close the case, what would be a fair amount, i still have back pain.

First, are you done with your treatment. The fact that the insurance company want to settle and close the case means nothing if you are not done with your treatment.Further, it all depends on what are your wages, the degree of temporary disability you have etc... It is highly unlikely that you will be able to negotiate a fair settlement by yourself. I would suggest you have your case reviewed by an attorney and get at least some idea as to where you stand and what would be a fair number.
