after being involved in an automobile accident and reporting to work, can employer force you to work.

Why wouldn't they be able to ask to work? Do you have a contract with your employer that prevents them from asking you to work? If you do not have contract and you are not injured on the job or during a job related errand, in Illinois, you are then considered an at will employee and you may be fired for any reason--including not going to work after having been involved in an auto accident.

So it is not that they can physically force you to work, but if you do not go to work, they can then fire you.
