Legal Question in Workers Comp in Illinois

I pointed out a safety issue to my boss during a renovation at one of the buildings I work at. I also pointed it out to the general contractor in charge of the renovation. Several months later, I was injured at work due to this particular hazard. I will be unable to work for an extended period of time. I filed for workers comp and also for disability through my retirement plan. What course of action can I take if I am denied these benefits or I don't feel as if the money they offer is sufficient?

Dear Sir,

You may have rights under the Illinois Workman's Compensation Act including payment for time lost from work (TTD benefits), medical bills, and a lump sum settlement based upon the nature and extent of your injuries.

There may be other benefits to which you may be entitled as well.

Please call our office should you wish to discuss in greater detail. (312) 977--9900

Many thanks,

John

Workers' Compensation (WC) is your exclusive remedy. All of your benefits through WC should be guided by an experienced WC attorney. Many people think they will handle a claim and try to save the 20% fee. This is foolish. For any significant injury, an experienced WC attorney will INCREASE your net recovery IN EXCESS OF ANY FEE.

Moreover, you will know your options and have someone watching your back. It's a true no-brainer.
