My name is too long

Presently i don't have passport, I want to change my name in to small name legally.I already applied for affidavit(hydearbad).

could you please clarify.

1)will i apply for passport using new name.

2)By using new name will i go to abroad. My 10th,Intermediate(12th),B.E are in old name.

I am facing lot of problems with old name, I can't apply most of the application's online, if i expand my name it is approximately 160 characters.

I approched one person in S.S.E(10th) board in hyderabad for changing name, they replied not posible to change name in mark sheets, only you can use affidavit.

because next year i have to apply H1B.

In your site also just given first name and last name, by using this big name iam facing lot of problems

Re: Change name

once you give attested affidavit along with publication of NAME CHANGE in two news papers one local and one english, your name is considered legally change and you can apply for the passport only with that new name. and that will appear in your passport as well as other legal documents. You do not need to change your name on your previous mark sheets.
