Legal Question in Banking Law in India
I took some cash from a colleague in jan 2007 and returned the same by cash after 2months but he was carrying my cheque and cause of some circumstances I could not collect my cheque from him and he presented tht cheque to the bank and as I had no funds in my a/c it got bounced in july 2007. then I left the country and now I am back
and he is sending me legal notices cause of dishonor of my cheque. u/s 138.
so please advice on this as what steps I should follow ?

seek help of a lawyer and verify whether any case u/s 138 is pending against you or not. also check whether any civil suit for recovery is there. what is the cheque amount?
