Legal Question in Banking Law in India

Lien Over Pension

I am drawing family pension from a pvt sector bank. I also had a credit card from the same bank which last used in 2003. Now suddenly the bank has prevented me from drawing the family pension saying it has marked lien on my pension account for the credit card dues. Is there any solution is this regard

Re: Lien Over Pension

If there are credit card dues, the Bank is well within its rights to set off the amount against the credit balance in your account, which I think is a savings Bank account in which the pensions are credited. Better find out the dues and pay it off

ask them to give details regarding this and if there is any problem then move to court for getting things cleared.

Re: Lien Over Pension

As a private bank is invloved here, you better check the document/contract/terms & conditions you signed for the family pension plan with them.

Also ask copy of the dues from them and if you think you have some balance to bank, pay it.

Re: Lien Over Pension

There may be some dues pending so ask the Bank for details.
