Legal Question in Banking Law in India

i am staying seperately from my husband for last 11 momths.divorce case filed by me at kolkata court is under sub juidice.previously my husband has taken two home loans from HDFC bank where in am a co applicant.both the peoperties are registered in his name.since i am heading for divorce i have approached HDFC bank bhilai for deleting my name as co-applicant.they have deleted my name and issued me a certificate regarding deletion of my name from the loan as co-applicant.i recently approached HDFC bank kolkata for home loan with my mother as coapplicant as i want the the property in the joint name of me and my mother.now the bank says that they cannot give me loan until and unless my divorce case is settled.since i am working in PSU as an executive i have provided them all my documents and pay slips.is the bank correct? may please help.

in my opinion Bank has nothing to do with your divorce case for sanctioning loan so pl ask them the exact reason.

Yes the bank is right in refusing the loan as the bank wants to be doubly sure of you not playing a fraud on it.
