There is a procedure in the SBI for settlement of claims on affidavit and indemnity basis. If none has been nominated by your father, you can request the bank for the procedure. They may require heirship certificate from Revenue officials like Tahsildar, two affidavits preferably your neighbours who may have accounts with the branch concerned and an indemnity bond with a surety for the value of the materials taken inventory of. Pl. enquire with the branch to guide you to get the contents without much hassle. I presume you have the locker key.
