Legal Question in Business Law in India
Dear Sir, I am Nataraj. In 2006 I was planning to start business with a lady friend. She deposited 2 lakhs in to my account. I already had 2 lakhs. The idea was to use 4 lakhs for various business deals including travel, stay, liason, etc. which I kept paying and she knew it. The business did not go as we expected. So we had about 1 lakh left which we shared 50000 each. Recently our relationship soured and all of a sudden she started asking me the entire 2 lakhs. The truth is we were thick friends earlier and no agreements were made. We never had a common accout too. Only my account was used. Kindly advise.

you need not worry about the recovery. there is no bases for her to demand money from you in the absence of any agreement and other documentary. If you are able to show the spendings from your account for those 3 lakhs for the purpose of the common business then you would be on the safer side.
