Re: pornography and cyber law in India

The answer to all four questions is a big YES...Pandering to prurience by patronizing pornographic websites from the privacy of your homes, purchasing sex toys, downloading obscene images into your PC attract obscenity laws and law of crimes..Cyber cafes, internet service providers are also accountable and liable to be proceeded with under applicable cyber laws for catering to prurience of any sort. Modern day IT tools enable forensic experts to track you down while you are online browsing. These experts can fix you on the basis of your IP address and also identify your PC's characteristics and software registry numbers and preserve this as evidence of what you did and also the time and date at which you did this. The Government has power to nail your service provider and take particulars about your browsing habits. Government has got powers to penalize your service provider for enabling you to browse such websites and can search and seize your PC to gather evidence against you. Moreover most of these porn sites plant cookies into your system that track you from the time you login. There would record of what all you did whilst you browsed and you can be tracked. In the U.S the FBI has developed tools to track down offenders and cyber criminals who indulge in pornography involving children. Yahoo and MSN "terms of service" mandate that you do not solicit sex with children or minors or solicit sex with strangers..THe law is evolving swiftly and catching up with technology. The Police will soon be at your door step...so watch out and safeguard you personal liberty..!
