A PIL is Public Interest Litigation, in which a Petitioner represents the interest of a larger majority and/or has an issue touching larger public interest.

A representative suit is a suit in which there are many Plaintiffs. Instead of making hundreds of people Plaintiffs, one or two come forward and file a representative suit.

A Ltigatioin filed to protect the interest of a larger majority of general public touching an issue affecting public interest of public.

Representative suit:

A suit represented by one instead of making number of people Plaintiffs.
