Legal Question in Construction Law in India

Retrieval of Deposit

1) I paid a deposit for construction of an apartment 4 years ago and construction didnt commence

2) I appealed to Consumer Court and was told if construction did not begin in 6 motnths I had to take back my deposit + 18% p.a. interest + other monies

Its time to take back the money - pls advise

1) what 18% p.a. means - is it 18% simple interest or compounded interest

2) Is my lawyer who handled my case in consumer court liable to get back my deposit for me being the Order of the court case he handled or do I have to do so on my own as now my lawyer is not responding to me

(1) You should carefully read the court order to understand its true meaning. Usually, it should be simple interest;

(2) Ordinarily, the lawyer's job has come to an end; However, you may re-engage him for this work which is technically known as 'execution' of decree.
