Legal Question in Consumer Law in India

Dear Sir,

I had a credit card from citibank. I always paid all the payments in time. but citibank stopped sending me statements and put lot of interest and finance and late payment charges. Then their collection people started harrassing me and my family. So when citibank offered a full and final settlement of Rs 8000 i agreed and accepted and paid the full amount of settlement by one single cheque well within the time line. i didnt have one paise outstanding against my purchases still i paid. Now citibank had sent me a letter saying that i paid only rs. 7000 and so the settlement stands void. But i have the cheque no. and my bank account showing that Rs 8000 went to citibank's account. I also have the settlement letter from citibank asking me to pay rs 8000 as full and final settlement. Now citibank is offering another full and final settlement and is asking fro rs. 2000. citibank is playing a constant fraud with me. please help me out of this mess as i feel helpless. please tell me what should i do. are there any options? if yes, what are the options.

Your cause is most unique and bank is liable to pay you acompensation for your suffering

which may go much excess to the amount they claim, i.e. mental suffering compensation

may be any amount what you imagine. You should not be afraid, since you have a conclusive

record to prove your cause.

I shall suggest not for amicable settlement but ask for reasonable compensation. Any competent

lawyer can do this. if you engage me i can save and protect your interest.
