File the a compaint before the Consumer Disputes redressal forum within whose jurisdiction you reside or where the multiplex carries on its business or works for gain or where the cause of action arose. You can file it personally or do it through a lawyer. To succeed you should have solid proof of your claim.Thank You.

Re: Food items being over charged.

1. You can file a complaint at the District Consumer Forum of your district.

2. The form of model complaint is given at http://www.mp.nic.in/mpfood/model_form_of_complaint.pdf

3. An advocate is necessary. However, if you can afford, it might be helpful.

4. Providing a bill is not a must since rates are displayed publicly. However, providing a proper receipt [proper means itemized list] is a must in the interest of consumer rights.

5. While drafting the complaint, you can reproduce therein the whole or relevant part of the rate list displayed as a proof that they are overcharging.

6. You can also submit a copy of the receipt issued by them, even though un-itemized, as proof that you are a consumer and that their act of not giving itemized list in spite of request is deficiency in service.

7. A recent judgment of Delhi State Commission, announced in November 06 in Times of India, has held that price more than printed price cant be charged even in a big hotel, what to say of a multiplex.

8. You are on solid ground. Go ahead and file a complaint. If you send me the complaint drafted by you as per the model complaint referred above, along with copies of necessary documents, I can provide help at highly concessional charges in the interest of public service.
