Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

I am a cottage exporter from India (New Delhi). I need consultancy regarding recovery of payments from a trader in Catania. First invoice amount due since Jan 2009.
I'll be in Catania on 15th July, thus I need consultancy regarding the same.
I too have a letter of guarantee from the trader for the due amount.
Please provide me a small glimpse of process of debt recovery and any further details you consider useful for me to know before visiting Italy.
I would appreciate if you provide a good explanation of procedure to be followed, as I have to prepare my documentation accordingly.

in case you at delhi, you may also file a suit for recovery from delhi depending upon the facts and circumstances of your case.
