Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

In india I have a kotak mahindra credit card with Rs 25000 credit limit,I moved to usa in 2009,so i could not make any payment. Now after 2 years I got a mail from kotak mahindra credit card department that I have to make a payment of RS 45000 immediately or else they will take legal action and will impound my passport.I dont have any intentions of not paying the money but being in USA its not possible to make payment immediately,so I asked the person that I am travelling to India this november and I will make the full payment and will do settlement. Then he said that at least you have to pay Rs 20000 immediatley to avoid legal actions.I tried to pay immediately but I could not.

Now the same person sending me mails that he is going to proceed with legal actions.

To my surprise he has all my details like my US house address,my US phone no and mainly my passport no, whereas I never share my details to anyone in India.

So my question is can he really impound my passport ,I am really scared as we have applied for our visa transfer currently and if he will impound my passport, everything will be ruined and my husband will never forgive me as my husband does not know anything about this as we had an arranged marriage.

Honestly speaking I just want that when I will visit India this november,I will make all payment, but before that I can not do anything Please reply and help me.

what shall I do now?

Someone has disclosed your secrets to Bank . The bank does not have any soft ware to find out the address . Any way they are not going to do anything of this kind as mentioned in your message but you should pay the amount when you are back in India. Anyway ,what is your status in USA ? Are you on a non immigrant visa, Green Card or citizenship ? Please clarify for further legal advice accordingly.
